This is just a small sample of the wide variety of leisure activities you may enjoy when visiting the Philippine Islands. Depending on your location you may also find hangliding, paragliding, water skiing, white water rafting etc.
Casinos
Most of the larger cities throughout the Philippines are home to some high class casinos, often as part of one of the more upmarket hotels.
The Waterfront hotel at Mactan Airport being a prime example.
Diving
Diving in the Philippines is truely amazing, your choices range from WWII wrecks to beautiful coral reefs that are rich in colour and species of fish.
Or go diving with the whale sharks of Donsol or bow ride with dolphins at Dumaguete. Just about any beach in the Philippines offers great snorkling sites , some coral within 25 meters of the shore.
Fishing
Larger cities like Manila & Cebu are well known for their fishing charter boats.
Get some game fishing done whilst on holiday, but whatever you do don’t forget your camera as the waters around the Philippines are well known for Tuna , Sailfish & Blue Marlin.
Golf
Most medium to large cities have at least one golf course & club nearby, so how about a nice lazy round or two of golf & then relax in a top class club house whilst quenchig your thirst.
Cotton shirts are advised as the humidity can be quite oppressive at times, especially to new arrivals in the Philippines.
Island Tours
Don’t just lock yourself away in your hotel room, there are many wonderful places to visit from Vigan in the north, with it’s mediteranean style houses, to the walled city of Intramuros, a city within Manila city.
Lets not forget the chocolate hills of Bohol or the worlds longest underground river at Sabang on the Island of Palawan. Or indeed the beautiful Garden city of Davao in the south.
Local Attractions
So you don’t fancy diving and getting wet ! Well this is the place for you, walk through the clear tunnel at Ocean Park Manila and get to see everything that usually only diving or snorkling will reveal.
Sharks, Manta Ray, Sting Ray, Corals & Reef fish are all available at this new aquarium complex.
Night Clubs & Bars
Angeles City just north of Manila is well known for its party spirit, if you have any energy left then you can dance till sun up , if the alcohol doesn’t get you first hahaha
Cebu City in the Visayas region is also well know for a mutitude of late night bars & discos, so don’t feel left out if your not near Manila. There is always something going on somewhere in the Philippines.
Water Sports
From Sailing to Rafting to Surfing, throughout the Philippines there is always somewhere offering some form of water activity !
Well with over 7,000 islands it is hardly surprising that water sports have developed so fast & increased in popularity.
Siargao Island near Surigao City has become a world renowned surf spot thanks to unhindered waves that roll in from the pacific ocean.
As I said, just a small example of some of the activities available in the Philippines, but I bet your spoilt for choice already.
